A measured view of demand, supply and value across Brighton, Hove and the wider Sussex coast.
Brighton and Hove has long been one of the most resilient property markets on the south coast. Its blend of Regency architecture, seafront location and fast London connections continues to draw buyers from across the region and the capital.
What we're seeing is a market that remains active but selective. Well-presented homes in sought-after locations continue to attract strong interest, while properties that are over-priced or in need of work are taking longer to find their buyer.
Leasehold flats remain a significant part of the local market, and lease length is increasingly a point of negotiation. Buyers and their lenders are more alert than ever to short leases, and we're seeing more extensions being agreed as part of a sale.

Across the wider Sussex coast, demand has broadened. Towns from Worthing to Eastbourne have seen renewed interest from buyers priced out of the city, and values in many of these locations have held up well as a result.
For valuation work, this matters. Comparable evidence moves quickly, and a figure prepared even a few months ago may no longer reflect current conditions. Up-to-date, locally grounded evidence is essential.
Our advice to owners and buyers is to take a clear-eyed view. An accurate, independent valuation — informed by current local evidence — is the best way to understand where your property, or one you're considering, truly sits in today's market.
